Privacy Policy
Stillmoor is built by Baker Ventures LLC (“we,” “us”). This policy describes what the Stillmoor app does with data, including the one place it touches Apple Health. Stillmoor is in development and has not been released yet; this policy describes the app as it is built today and stays in force once it ships.
The short version
Stillmoor collects nothing, and it never reads your health data. There is no account, no server, no analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising code. Your practice log lives on your own device. The app's only health-data use is a one-way write: when you finish a practice and you have allowed it, Stillmoor adds those minutes to Apple Health as a Mindful Minutes entry. It asks for permission to write that one type and for nothing else.
Apple Health, in detail
This is the part worth reading closely, so it is written out rather than summarised.
- Write only. Stillmoor asks Apple Health for permission to save exactly one type of data: a mindful session (
HKCategoryTypeIdentifierMindfulSession), which is the entry you see in Health under Mindful Minutes. It is a start time, an end time, and nothing else. - It never reads any health data. Not one type, not once. The app requests no read permission at all. It does not read your heart rate, heart-rate variability, respiratory rate, sleep, steps, workouts, weight, cycle data or anything else, and it declares no permission string that would let it ask. Even if you granted Stillmoor read access to your whole Health record, there is no code in the app that would read a single value from it.
- Nothing is inferred about you. There is no stress score, no “nervous-system state”, no calm rating, no mood field and no assessment of any kind, anywhere in the app. Stillmoor counts minutes. It never concludes anything about the person who practised them.
- What is written is true. The entry covers the seconds you actually practised, not the length you planned. A five-minute practice stopped at forty seconds writes forty seconds.
- It is optional and reversible. The app works fully with Health declined, unavailable, or switched off, and says so instead of failing quietly. You can turn the Health switch off in the app, or revoke access at any time in Health → Sharing → Apps.
- Health data goes nowhere else. It is not sent to us, not sent to anyone else, not used for advertising or marketing, and not put in an analytics event — there are no analytics in this app to put it in.
Apple Health data written by Stillmoor is held by Apple on your device under Apple's own protections, not by us. We never receive it.
What the app stores on your device
In the app's own private storage on the phone, and nowhere else:
- Your practice log. For each finished practice: when it started, how many seconds you practised, which situation you picked (Before, After, Wired, Foggy or Night), whether it ran to the end, and whether it made it into Apple Health.
- Settings. Whether haptics are on, whether eyes-free mode is on, whether you have been asked about Health and what the answer was, and whether you have completed first run.
That is the complete list. There is no name, no email address, no date of birth, no mood rating and no free-text field anywhere in the app, so there is nothing of that kind to store.
What the app does not do
- No account and no sign-in.
- No server and no network requests of its own. The practices are composed on the device from text and artwork bundled in the app. Nothing is streamed, downloaded, uploaded or reported, and the whole app works in airplane mode. The only exceptions are the ones you start yourself, by tapping a crisis-support row (see below) or an email address.
- No analytics and no crash reporting. No PostHog, no Sentry, no Firebase, no advertising or attribution SDK.
- No location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos or calendar access.
- No notifications. The app has no notification code and no push token, so it cannot send you anything.
- No advertising identifier and no tracking across apps or websites.
Your device region
Stillmoor reads your device's region setting for one purpose: deciding which crisis-support numbers to show on the support screen. Users in the United States see the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline rows; everyone else is pointed to findahelpline.com. That setting is read on the device and is not sent anywhere. Tapping one of those rows hands off to your phone app, messages app or browser, which is outside Stillmoor; we do not log that you tapped it, and we never know whether you did.
Purchases
Stillmoor is free in this version. There is no paywall, no subscription and no in-app purchase, so nothing contacts a payment or subscription service and there is no purchase history to hold. If a paid tier is ever added, this page changes first and names what the change is.
Children's privacy
Stillmoor is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 13. Since the app collects nothing, there is no children's data for us to hold.
Your choices
- Delete the log. The app's own settings screen clears your practice log from the device.
- Delete the app. Removing Stillmoor removes its storage with it. Nothing survives on a server, because nothing was ever on one.
- Entries already in Apple Health stay in Apple Health. They are your records, held by Apple, and deleting Stillmoor does not remove them. Remove them in the Health app under Browse → Mindfulness, or revoke access in Health → Sharing → Apps.
- Ask us anything. Email rsb.baker+stillmoor@gmail.com.
A practice app, not treatment
Stillmoor is a practice app. It does not treat, diagnose or assess anything, and it makes no claim about anyone's health. If you are in crisis, the support screen inside the app lists where to call; see the Terms and the Support page.
Changes to this policy
If the app starts doing something this page does not describe — analytics, crash reporting, an account, a paid tier, or reading any health data at all — this page changes first, with a new effective date, and the change is named here rather than folded in quietly.
